Santa Rosa Bathroom Remodel Project
In-progress bathroom remodel in Santa Rosa: subway tile shower walls, hexagon marble-look niche, Schluter corners set with mitered precision.
Subway Tile Shower with Niche
This Santa Rosa shower is mid-build, and the details show it. White subway tile covers the walls in a running bond pattern, with mitered corners at every outside edge instead of bullnose trim. That's a slower way to work, but it gives the shower a cleaner line where the walls meet. The niche gets its own treatment: hexagon marble-look tile on the back and sides, framed with a Schluter edge system for a finished, waterproof transition between materials. Getting those Schluter corners to sit flush and stay put while the thinset cures takes patience. On this job, that meant wood bracing and painter's tape holding the miters in place overnight before the joints set for good. It's not glamorous work, but it's the kind that determines whether a shower looks tight in five years or shows every seam. This project is part of Soulié Construction's ongoing bathroom remodel work in Sonoma County, where residential jobs get the same attention whether they're a small niche detail or a full gut. Before and after photos will follow once the tile work wraps and the space comes together.
