Santa Rosa Composite Deck Project

This Santa Rosa hillside lot called for a deck that could carry weight and hold a line. We framed it to plan, built strong enough to support future additions if the homeowner ever wants one. The elevated structure sits well above grade, so the frame had to be solid from the ground up before a single board of decking went down. On top, we ran Trex composite decking with a picture-frame border, a detail that squares off the field boards and gives the whole surface a finished, tailored look. The stairs carry the same composite treads down to grade, so the transition from deck to yard reads as one continuous piece of work. White vinyl and composite railing wraps the perimeter, clean and low-maintenance against the gray decking. Underneath, wood lattice skirting closes off the space below the deck, keeping the underbuild out of sight without blocking airflow. From the deck, the view opens onto grassy hillside terrain, the kind of scenic outlook Sonoma County hillside lots are built for. Every board, rail, and stair tread on this job was built to hold up outdoors for years, not just look good on install day.
