Santa Rosa Deck Project

This deck sits two stories up, off the back of a home going through a full rebuild in a Santa Rosa neighborhood that lost nearly everything to fire. Framing an elevated deck like this means the support posts have to do real work. We set them plumb, braced them right, and built the staircase to match the rise before a single board goes down for the walking surface. Wood framing at this height takes patience. Every post, every stringer on the staircase, has to line up before we move to decking. Get the bones wrong and the finish work never sits right. Get them right and the deck outlasts the house around it. Projects like this one are personal for us. Putting a family back into a home on this street means more than a typical remodel. We frame it the same way we'd frame our own place: square, solid, and built to hold up to whatever comes next.
