Santa Rosa Stairs & Entry Project

This Santa Rosa home needed a real entry off the sliding glass door, not a drop straight to dirt. We framed a landing and stair run in wood, then topped it with composite decking that won't warp or split under North Bay sun and rain. A wood railing ties the landing back into the house and gives the stairs something solid to hold onto on the way down. The run ends at a concrete pad, so the transition from door to yard is clean at every step. Framing first, decking second, railing last. Nothing exotic about the sequence but it has to be done in order and done square or the stairs feel off underfoot. It's a small job by square footage, but the details matter as much as they would on something bigger. Every riser has to land even. Every post has to hold. That's the standard whether we're building a landing off a slider or a full deck.
